Beckett Van Stralen is a horror screenwriter and game writer. Born and raised in Vancouver BC, he has always had a morbid fascination with exploring the darkest, most undesirable aspects of humanity in the modern world. Even when it completely terrified him at a young age, he couldn’t tear himself away. This love for all things horror has blossomed into a deep passion to explore these subjects in his screenwriting.

Inspired by the works of David Lynch, John Carpenter, and William Friedkin, Beckett loves to explore the dark undertones of life which seem picture perfect on the surface. He loves to write about mountainous towns which harbour closely-kept secrets, or even cults which seek to use and appropriate its members for their own nefarious devices.

While also being a screenwriter and game writer, Beckett has been an avid video gamer for as long as he’s been able to hold a controller. He takes inspiration from horror video games such as Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and the Amnesia series.
